The SAFS is a non-profit organization dedicated to foster and advance friendship and goodwill between the people of the state of Colorado and Switzerland through social and cultural programs. We strive to serve all persons having a natural interest in the two nations.

Welcome to Fall
Thank you everyone for a great summer! We hosted a ton of great events including our 2nd year of camping and our favorite annual tradition- The First of August Celebration. We have a couple of new events this fall including golf, a movie night and pumpkin carving. We hope to see you there!
This year we have really been trying to focus on our members. New members and old members who have been with us for years! If you do not already know, the Swiss American Friendship Society is a registered Non-profit organization, this means that we don’t make a profit off of you or the money you pay towards event registrations, the only thing we want to do is bring us all together over our shared love of Switzerland!
Since we are a non-profit, the registration fee that you pay each year is important to us. We use this money to give experiences back to you. This year we have already held a member’s brunch (sponsored by Telluride Stone) and given free trucker hats to members that joined us at the Aurora Fest Parade of Nations. We are also covering the cost of camping and will be hosting a free Christmas party for Member children. We respect that not everyone may want to pay the membership fee, especially if you only come to one event per year, but we hope that you will consider becoming a member and supporting our club!

Merchandise for Sale
In case you missed them at our First of August Celebration, we have special edition SAFS hats for sale! These are red and white trucker style hats. On the front there is a leather patch with a laser engraved SAFS logo.
Hats are $20 each.
If you are interested please send us an email to info@safs.us and we can process your order. We can bring the hat to a future event or you can pick-up in the Lakewood area. For an additional fee we are also able to ship.
We also still have this year’s Swiss pin available for purchase. The pin this year has a unique feature, you can un-velcro it, remove the pin and replace it with a key ring to make it a keychain! Please email us if you are interested in purchasing a pin. We can ship for an additional fee.
Pins are $5 each.

Join us for 9 holes of golf! We will be in groups of 4.
Inexperienced golfers welcome
Cost: $55 and includes a cart
Registration opens on Weds August 12th
Registration closes on Saturday September 12th
You must register in advance and prepay on our website, we will not accept onsite payments. If you have issues paying on the website please email us and we can work out an alternate payment arrangement. Full payment is required prior to the registration deadline.

Fall Foliage Hike and Bike

Hike will be an easy 2 mile hike on the Davis Pond Loop
BIKERS- Stay Tuned! We are going to add a mountain biking option but the timing might be a little different. Check back for updates.
A Colorado State Parks Pass gives you free entry to the park otherwise you will need to pay the entry fee at the ticket window. Cost is $10-$15. Visit the park website for more information.

Important Information for Swiss Citizens Living Abroad
On Tuesday Sept 16, 2025, the Swiss Consulate aired two Webinars with important information regarding taxes and finance questions for Swiss citizens living abroad: dual taxation, pensions, wealth management, inheritance etc. If you were not able to join the live Webinars the recordings from the presentations can be found here.
